I was talking with a friend about this commercial. This was a huge part of me growing up. The difference is when I first saw this commercial it was an old man (his father?) breaking the sticks with him. I am glad that you still get a free onion. Keep it up big Mike.

Ahhhhhhh.....damnit, my work blocks Youtube....i'm going to have to check this when I get home. I have been wondering if it was up.
I actually reference this commercial a lot but my suburban friends just don't get it. Way to keep central Illinois' rich vibrant culture remembered and alive.
This is the worst ad campaign I have ever seen. It's cheap, tasteless, humorless, and simply stupid. It makes me want to run screaming away from the store instead of shopping there.
